1. I chose this question,
'Would a woman president be taken seriously by an Arab state?'

If I can vote for this election, my decision has nothing to do with whether or not woman would be taken seriously by leaders from the Arab states. I think this question is a very stupid question. When president works for country, sex is not important, it needs only his (or her) ability to manage a country. Also, Arab states are getting changed about women’s rights, the questioner needs to know it.
As we all know, there have been a lot of women president in many of world except America. Commonly, it has been well known that America is symbol of equality of sex, and America also wants to be shown so. If America wants to prove it, woman should be president as soon as possible. Women are people just like men. I think this question has to be changed to 'Would a person who is similar to Bush be taken seriously by an Arab state?'


2. My own question.
There is a lot of US army who have been stationed in other countries for keep the peace. However, it has been causing countless troubles here and there including Korea,and they have been being free from restraint of the law, so most people are against US army. Do you have effective measures to solve it?


3. What do you think of this format for presidential debates?
In Korea, we have never tried it even though we have enough technology to do it. If Korea do it for election, it will be sensation because people who can vote are conservative usually, and they are not familiar with this format. However, I think it will be common in whole of world. Unlike the past, today's people are very very busy, so it is good for them. I also agree with this format.

What message did you take away from this?

First of all, I felt this was a comedy when I watched the movie first time. I think it could make people who live in nowadays be changed to reduce watching TV.
As the person who prefers to watch the TV, I was impressive I heard "No matter how much trouble the hero is in, don't worry. Just look at your watch. At the end of the hour, he's gonna win." People may expect that characters who act in television do something what normal people can't do instead of them. So, people are very satisfied only when they watch the television, and they're addicted to watching television. I'm fortune I could be knew it by the movie.



Is this message more or less relevant today than 30 years ago when this movie came out?

It's very hard to answer to me. I think sometimes this movie is seriously relevant today, but sometimes it is not proper. On the one hand, these days, people still watch the TV too much like when this movie came out, some people even don't anything except watching TV. How a terrible! It should be improved. On the other hand, this movie is not good for nowadays. Today's people live in flood of high technology. High technology is connected with movies. So, since people are born, until they pass away, they would not avoid watching any movies. To live at present, people have to be familiar with movies.



Is this a message for American audiences only, or is it a message that could be spread in your home country? Why or why not?

I think this movie could be spread in whole of world, especially Korea. Korea is one of the most developed high-technology country, so this matter still causes a big dispute. Since internet was spread in Korea, people who read books are getting decrease year after year. Most Korean will be shocked if they watch this movie because it is like that speaker say to them.



Does this make you want to see the movie, or does it just sound like a boring old man trying to tell everyone how to live their life?

It is absolutely interesting without doubt. I used to be a book addict before entered a university because entering a university is signal what can live without limit in Korea, so I would be drunk a lot of days and I would never study, just I would go to university to drink with some friends. This movie makes me regret it. So, I decide I'll become a new-man and I will absolutely be changed!

Crazy Story

Once upon a time, there were three princes in Alabama. Alabama princes' mames were Hong, Song, Mr. Hung. But, only Hong had a girlfriend. The grilfriend was very very beautiful, pretty. Hong loved her very much and prepared to get married with her. He decided to go to the United States with her for proposing to her. When they arrived, somebody killed Hong, so his girlfriend was crying. The girlfriend planned to make a revenge to the person who killed his lovely boyfriend, Hong. She requested the Maffia to be helped for revenge. After the investigation, the Maffia told her,
" Murder is Song!"
Because Song also loved her. Maffia cut Song's arms and legs, then Mr.Hung became a king im Alabama. And, Mr.Hung get married with Hong's girlfriend.

Alacridad

My major in Korea is social welfare, so I experienced voluteering many times. Before came America, many seniors in University recommended that it's good for me to experience a lot of voluteering in America. When I was watching the presentation about Alacridad, I was really excited and I realized that I have to experience volunteering in America. I think I wouldn't work directly for Alacridad because Chris said that if I want to do it, I have to go Panama. However, this presentation made me be passional. After that, I sent a e-mail to the United Way what to work for them and I got an answer. They said I can't work directly for them, but they are always in great need of volunteers for our projects, so I'll be helped them. First of all, I'm so amazed that I receive an answer to them, and I can experience voluteering in America.

I'm going to be volunteer at September 7, I'm going to join this event ' Days of Caring'. I hope it will be great experience.

Simpson

1. Summary.
After having trouble trying to solve a puzzle, Lisa fears that the Simpson gene, Her grandfather has told her about, is afflicting her. Meanwhile, Grandfather's friend Jasper places himself in suspended animation in Apu's freezer. Jasper wants to see the future. Seeing an opportunity to make money, Apu turns the KWIK-E-MART into a FREAK-E-MART. Lisa gathers evidence on her stupidity and fears she will turn into another Simpson. She gives an editorial on the news on how people should nurture their brains while they still can. Homer tries to show her that not all Simpsons are stupid. He gathers his relatives on the front lawn and asks each other what they do. It shows to Lisa that all the men are idiots and the women, by comparison, are very genious. Lisa feels relieved with the proof. By the way, Jasper awakes from his frozen state and Apu loses his new job.

2. Which is more important in human development of personality and intellegence: genes or environment?
I think environment is more important in human's life than genes. If everything depends on genes, Michael Jordan's son should play the basketball very well and Bill Gates's daughter also should be very genious. Of course, it would good for child if child is brought up with the person who has excellent genes, but if not, it doesn't matter. I think that everything is up to people's effort. So, I totally believe the Thomas Edison's saying 'Genius is one percent inscription, ninety-nine percent perspiration.'

Summary

Alex Fletcher(Hugh Grant) is a former pop star, not now. Someday, he gets a big chance what duet with very popular singer Cora Corman(Haley Bennett), but he must compose a song titled "Way Back into Love" for in few days. Embarrassed, he tells his manager that he needs help from a lyricist.
Alex meets Sophie Fisher(Drew Barrymore) when she comes to his house to water his plants. She is a writer with little confidence in her abilities. Alex requests Song her assistance on the song, and although she declines, after talk with him, she agrees to help him. The song is made after many complications, and they fall in love together. Cora also likes the song, but she includes some melody. Sophie disagree it completely and try to say to Cora that she doesn't agree, but Alex prevent it, so their relationship ends. Then, Cora invites Alex and Sophie to the first concert, Sophie listen the song what isn't changed, that is, original version, she impressed. Finally Alex and Sophie rejoin together.
I don't have girl friend, so this movie make me excited. Until now, I thought that it is impossible to rejoin the love after broke up. But, after watched, I changed thinking and I felt that I want to get a girl friend. Umm...Chris~help me please...

Being polite and Culture.

There is a proverb 'It is the best way that you follow adult's idea.' in Korea. It's very important to be polite, especially to old people because most Korean worry about age when they meet a person. Actually, America's culture and Korea's culture are different definitely. So, what people are considered rude are also different. For example, when we meet old people or work with old people in Korea, usually young people work more than old people and they have to respect old people. In America, although I'm younger than someone who meet with me, it's not rude to make him do something and I don't need to be polite as long as I act nomally. In my house, it is rude to eat earrier than parents when we eat together, but in America not. Like this, a lot of things are differnet, so we must understand about different customs.

One day, when Randall the male main character of this movie drove home after a business trip, he accidently hit a wolf, and he got out of his car and tried to touch it, the wolf bit on the hand. After that, he began to feel younger and more energetic, and he started able to smell things other people can't. Also, he behaved like a wolf, and he gradually realized that he became a werewolf.
At the office, Randall has just been fired his job by owner Alden and his place taken by Swinton who has been having an affair with Randall's wife. At that time he met Alden's beautiful daughter Laura. Randall was upset because he knew that Swinton was having an affair with his wife, so he visited a Swinton's house, and he bit Swinton, Swinton also became a werewolf. Finally, Randall and Swinton fought in Laura's house, and Laura shot a gun to Winston because Winston Tried to kill Randall. After that, Laura saw Randall who became a werewolf, Randall went away.
2 days ago, Charles who is my last semester's teacher gave DVD to me. That' why I watched this old movie. Although this movie is too old, I learned a lot of things.I realized about the law of the jungle. Randall's subordinate watched for a chance what Randall's position. So, they always quarreled about small thing. In my case, I have to go out into the society as soon as I graduate a university, so I may experience it. Just thinking about it make me scarry. I really hope it will be improved. Lastly, I want Chris recommend good movie to learn a American culture.

I realliy believe that alien exists. In the world, there are a lot of mystery what can't explain why happened. Some scientists try to explain it, but few people trust that. So I believe there is another planet what people can live. If I live in another planet, I would live very adventurously because I'm full of curiosity. First of all, I would look for alien, and I would learn their language to communicate with them. And then, I'll teach our language what Korean, then I would make the new country what live both human being and alien. Ultimately, this is my dream what live in that don't need English.kakakakakaka

Summary

Jessica was the most popular, the hottest girl in the high school. She always got funny with man. She expected that she win the cheerleader tournament. Some day, she went shopping and she bought a special earring what can be changed a body. Then, she went a gas station, she came across a man who is petty thief and is stealing money in gas station. She dropped a pair of earring, he got it and he put it on.Next morning, when she woke up, she realized that her body was changed to 30-years-old male body. That's thief's body. Since then, she experienced a lot of events. However, she really wanted to win the tournament, she participated and win the tournamnet finally. And, she found a man who was changed to her body, she returned to original body.
After watched a movie, I imagined that if I am changed to girl's body, what I do first of all. Maybe I'll go sauna or meet a my ex-girl friend and ask about me.
It's not real, but I think most people imagine it at least one time. So, this movie s very funny.

AUSTN BUSINESS FIELD TRIP

Thursday morning, it was cloudy weather as if it look like rain soon. Naree, Ziad and I were same group. We were unfamiliar each other, but I tried to become familiar because we had to visit two gyms.


GYM 1

We visited a gym first close to the whole food store. This gym name was 'PURE AUSTIN GYM', the gym was on the second floor. There was one information desk. " Hi, what can i do for you? " she said,
" We are international students in TIEP. We got a mission what interview about business," we said.
" OK. I'll find someone who is gym's manager. We don't mind you look around the gym," she answered and smiled.
We took a look around the gym. This gym was very clearly and modernly. There were a lot of machine for work-out. I thought everything look like brand-new. A few time later, someone came up to us.
" Hi, i'm manager in here. My name is Justin. What kind of question will you ask? " he said,
" Hi, nice to meet you, we are going to ask about business. But, don't worry, this is not serious. Just for learning English," we answered. After that, we began to ask to him. He was very kind. He looked like that he did his best. He said that he
worked here for three years, he think this gym is good for working.
" Our employees and managers are very close, so we sometimes going out and drink together. In this gym, there are about 100 trainers to help a customer. I know everybody's name," he said very quickly.
" Yes~ and then? Anything else? " he asked,
" NO~ Thank you so much~! You're very very kind~! " we replied.
After interview, we spent a time for looking around more, and we left the gym.

GYM 2

After that,we took a Ziad's car, and we discussed about details of interview. At the same time, we were aware of that we already spent a lot of time, so we had to hurry up. We went to next place without delay.
There was another gym near the Pure Austin gym. The gym name was MECCA GYM and it was also on second floor. This gym was divided into three parts. First part was work-out room, second part was spa room, third part was locker room. When we took off a elevator, we heard "Good morning!" from desk. they thought we were visitors.
" We're international students. We want to ask something about business. Can I take your time?" we said.
" Wait a seconds," she said calmly.
A few seconds later,
"OK. I can help you guys. How can I help you?" she said with a smile.
Unlike that I expected, she was also very kind. This gym smells of flowers, I think because of spa. They have sold spa products.
" If I become a member in here, can I use both fitness center and spa? " I asked it first.
" Yes, sure, moreover you can use everything such as locker room, laundry room," she answered quickly.
" Before we came here, actually we had visited other gym where close to the here, and we interviewd. What do you think about there? what is diferent thing? "
" Absoulutely we know there. Although our store is smaller than there, but we have spa room, and we provide massage service," we asked serious question, they were never embarrased.
In the desk, there were two girls. One girl was very pretty, so I wanted to talk to her, but she never pay attention to me.
" By the way, can I ask your name?"
" No problem, Kristi, my name is Kristi," she replied kindly.
After that, we said good-bye, we left there with pleasant feeling.

I like go shopping. Whenever I have free time, usually I would go shopping. So, this topic is very interesting to me. These days, There are a lot of brands, and most people prefer to buy more popular brand's product, me too. This is differ from
situation to situation. For example, when I buy living necessaries such as toothpaste, food, I don't care about brands. Because these are not exposed to people. But, when I buy clothes or electronics, I consider it seriously. Actually,when I bought a car, I really wanted to buy a popular brand's car. I think brand symbolize people's wealth and most people think so. I think this is the way that express them by themselves. That's why I like to buy more popular brand's thing. However, since now, I try to not mind the brand. Because of my parents. My parents always wear cheap clothes and buy cheap things. I knew it a short time ago. I don't think popular brand product is not good, just I want to be dutiful to my parents.

Writing a CD review.

When I chose a CD ' BASEBALL HITS' in the library , actually I didn't my best to find good CD. I just picked it out without concern. After listened the music in the home, I could know that this CD is not music. That's only baseball announcer's saying. That's why I borrowed a chris' CD.
CD title is ' ANI DIFRANCO CARNEGIE HALL 4.6.02 '. singer Ani Difranco is known as a prolific artist and is seen by many as a women's rights and feminist icon. Every song is live song what record her voice in concert. I can't know what kind of this music. In the inthernet, this songs are called ' cult song'. In the music. I listened only guitar's sound and her voice. Sometimes I could listen a shout of fans. I think songs have some meaning, but I can't know because this songs are too fast to me. In the middile of song, she sometimes stop to sing a song and she say something. This is interesting. If someone want to listen a special song, I recommend this CD.

Three things about me.

If I tell somebody about myself by sending a package, first of all, I'll put letter from my father in box. Until now, I have never heard " I love you " from my father. I thought he was a very cold-hearted person. But, after I came in Austin for learning English, a few weeks later, I received a letter from Korea. That's from father and I could read some sentence. After that, I was filled with tears and I put it in my wallet. The letter is the most precious thing. Second, I want to put accident photo in box. About one month ago, I had a car accident. This accident caused a lot of difficult matter. Everything is all my fault, however , it's very hard to endure from accident to me. So, in order to prevent accient and to remind this accient whenever I am too lazy, I want to put the photo in box. Last, third, I'll put my photo album in box. I like take a picture. When I go somewhere, I usually take a picture. I have a lot of pictures in album, so Whoever look my album, they can know well about me.

How does one become rich?

Most people want to become rich, and I also want to be rich. Then, how does one become rich? There are a lot of ways to be rich. Usual way is that win in the lottery. Other way is that save the money without spending and etc. Although there are a lot of ways to be rich, actually, there are few rich. If it's easy to practice the ways to be rich, people won't want become rich. Because, Generally, people want be special person. A few days ago, I watched Korean drama. In the drama, there are two main characters. One of them is a person who works for small company. He receive little salary, But he is full of confidence and he looks so happy always.However, another one of main characters is completely different. Her grandmother has major company. And, she is going to be CEO in her grandmother's company. But she always feels depressed and lack of satisfaction. I preceived in the drama that people must change mind. The more has, the more wants. Unlike regular people's idea, rich try to make money more without satisfaction. Therfore people have to change mind into what can be feel satisfaction. This is the easiest way to become rich.

The Simpsons ' Trash of the Titans '

1. Summary of story

Companies created a new holiday ' Love Day ' to sell more of their products. It caused more

garbage to be produced. Simpsons' family also prodused a lot of garbage. When Homer took

out the garbage, he fought the garbege men. therefore they didn't pick up the garbage.

After that, some day, the garbage men picked up the garbage because Homer's wife wrote a

letter of apology to the sanitation commissioner. Homer felt violated, he went to the city hall,

he decided to register to run for the sanitation commissioner. Finally, he won the race, he

became a the sanitation commissioner. However, he didn't work well. He spent his entire year's

budget in a month. So, he allowed other cities throw garbage away in his town. He thinked

he solved the problem, but it caused a big disaster. Whole town was filled with the garbage.

As a result, he was fired the job, whole town had to be moved to other place.



2. My thoughts on the story.

This story is very serious. It can be happened to us. I think America produced a lot of

garbage. American look like they don't think seriously about this problem. Korea,

my country, also has this problem. However, we did our best for solve this problem.

Many years ago, we already practiced a separate garbage collection and used recyclable

materials. Althogh USA also practiced it, it didn't well. Therefore I insist that American must

change a mind about the garbage problem.



3. What does the episode say about Holiday in America ?

This episode make me feel seriously about Holiday culture. I also produced a lot of

garbage at the holiday such as a valentine day. Now, after watched the cartoon, I'll

try to reduce producing garbage.
